In the province of Zonguldak, the 63 meters high chimney is made of bricks and reinforced with iron bracelets. The upper part of the chimney is inclined. The opening of the Üzülmez Coke Factory, one of the first industrial facilities of the Republic, established in Baştarla Neighborhood, was made by the then Prime Minister İsmet İnönü in 1935.
The factory, which serves the coal industry by producing 32 types of goods ranging from benzol (a fuel oil that is a mixture of gasoline and toluene) to oil types, from naphthalene to briquette coal, completed its economic life and was closed in 1970.
After remaining idle for a while, the 63-meter-long chimney of the factory, which was demolished in 1988, was taken under protection as an industrial heritage by the Karabük Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Board, with the initiative of the contractor firm that demolished. The upper part of the chimney, which was built with bricks around the bar iron, was bent over time.
